In Nature’s Wake: Documentations of Detail — Drawings by Tim Angell

January 24 - April 20, 2014

Explore nature with an exhibit featuring the work of local artist Tim Angell, also opening at the Museum of the Earth in January. Inspired by 17th century botanical drawings and paintings, Angell works in a manner that exemplifies the care and craftsmanship of those historic pieces.

While pursuing his BFA and MFA, in painting and sculpture respectively, Angell explored the differing approaches between two- and three-dimensional art. These ruminations informed the meticulous and fully committed manner in which he describes the subjects in his recent nature-inspired works.

Then & Now: The Changing Arctic Landscape and Tim Angell open at the Museum of the Earth on Thursday, January 23 and will run through May 2014.
