On Display September 24, 2010 to February 20, 2011

Come check out our latest temporary exhibit which is all about bivalves - clams, scallops, oysters, mussels, and more. Did you know that there are over 20,000 different species of bivalves living today? In this exhibit, you'll learn about bivalves, from the tiniest to the largest, through touchable models, real specimens, and hands-on activities. We'll also explore how scientists are using this varied group of organisms to study evolution and how they are unraveling the Bivalve Tree of Life, part of Earth's vast evolutionary tree.

This exhibit made possible with support from the National Science Foundation, M&T Bank, and Maxie's Supper Club.
